I wanted to get some feedback on your guys opinions on this. I have considered participating in this, but I want to make sure nobody is going to be super broken up if the website disappears for a day.

The website would be down for the entire day on January 18th. I would keep the loader online. Multiple big name sites are supporting this, and I strongly oppose the SOPA bill (as you should too!).

Nobody has voted against this, so as of now we will be supporting SOPA by turning off VelocityCheats.com for the entire day on January 18th.

I will keep the loader online so you guys can still bring the hurt to your games.

Will this effect other countries? Here nobody's talking about it. I don't think they even know. Pretty sad... :(

This is only in the United States

Actually it's not. It only directly affects the United States but think about how many US based organisations there are that own websites and/or companies that rely on the internet to either sell to multiple nations and/or advertise for specific products.

Free speech will technically only be fucked in the US but it does affect everyone else too.

This has already caused too much of a stir and drama, I doubt it'll go very far.

Indeed, I doubt it will pass but it's scary that it's even being considered.

it just proves that the government has the power to do it. All they want to do is put a vice on our balls...

I think Google should shut down for a day, that would fuck up half the business world for sure.

Yahoo and ask.com would be assholes and stay up.

Yes, this is true however that doesn't mean it won't be emulated to block domestic sites as well in later bill proposals. This is just the start. I have no problems for the blackout, however it would be best to include some type of information within the loader concerning SOPA like Awolxx's post as I believe some members do not visit the forum very often; some might even be oblivious.
